Amendment in Qualification and method of appointment of High school Assistant
(Kannada medium) posts- Requested for
With
reference to the Gazette Notifications of Qualification and method of
appointment to the Posts of High school Assistants (H.S.A) in Core subjects
like H.S.A Mathematics (Kannada medium), H.S.A Social Science (Kannada medium),
H.S.A Physical Science (Kannada medium), H.S.A Natural Science (Kannada medium)
etc we would like to submit the following a few lines for your kind
consideration and necessary early favorable action.
For the
appointment in Kannada Medium Schools of the Kasaragod District the teacher
candidates must have sufficient knowledge in Kannada language. At present, the
required prescribed qualification for the appointment of H.S.A core subjects of
Kannada medium are a Degree in the concerned subjects and the B.Ed Degree in
the same subject. The knowledge of Kannada language of the candidate is tested
at the time of the interview conducted by the Kerala Public Service Commission.
Resultantly the ineligible teacher candidates having NO KNOWLEDGE OF KANNADA LANGUALE
AT ALL are appointed in Kannada medium schools to teach to teach the above said
subjects. Naturally they are quite unable to teach their subjects in KANNADA
MEDIUM CLASSES. From this anomaly poor students will suffer as they can’t
understand the lesson and result will be unsatisfactory and their future will
be kept in shadow.
For the
removal of this problem the Government may be pleased to amend the method of
appointment in the special rule as the candidates for the appointment of H.S.A
Mathematics (Kannada medium), H.S.A Social Science (Kannada medium), H.S.A
Physical Science (Kannada medium), H.S.A Natural Science (Kannada medium) etc
MUST HAVE STUDIED IN KANNADA MEDIUM UP TO 10th STANDARD or THEY MUST
HAVE STUDIED KANNADA AS ONE OF THE SUBJECTS IN THEIR SCHOOL EDUCATION UP TO 10
th STANDARD.
We,
therefore, request that the Government may be pleased to order AMENDING THE
SPECIAL RULE AS STATED ABOVE IN THE METHOD OF APPOINTMENT TO THE POSTS OF H.S.A
IN DIFFERENT SUBJECTS OF KANNADA MEDIUM.
